Another Reason Why We Need Your Help

I wanted to share a recent story to emphasize why we need your help in finding our classmates.

As I was searching the web for information on holding a reunion and finding classmates, I came across the website for the 40-year reunion of Miami Coral Park High School. It made me think of how many of their students had actually been part of our lives. If you don't remember, Miami Coral Park High opened right before we went to high school. If you happened to live in the "wrong" boundary, then you were torn apart from many of the friends whom you had known since elementary school.

It made me think of one particular friend I had known since second grade - Steve Reinemund. Steve is now the Chairman of the Board of PepsiCo - parent company of Pepsi Cola and many other products you know.

So I called their offices and left a message with his secretary to see what has been going on with his life. (Yes, there if more to life than worldwide fame and money). Two days ago, Steve called me back and we reminisced for nearly 25 minutes about all the memories we had and personal things that had gone on during the past 40+ years. I then asked if he were going to his 40-year reunion at Miami Coral Park High. He said, "I didn't even know they were having one."

Of course I put him in touch with their committee. But it made me think. If the most famous alumni from a school had not even been contacted, how many students from our class will never know about our reunion. How many Steve Reinemunds are there at Coral Gables High that we will never have the opportunity to share our memories with?

Please send us the names of classmates who we do not have. It's been 40 years. Wouldn't it be a kick to hear what they have been doing and reminisce with old friends?
