Gables Cavaliers Win District Football Championship

This Should Bring Back Some Wonderful Memories

Coral Gables High School's football team won its first district championship in seventeen years when it defeated Miami Beach High 45 to 22 Thursday night. This win and Columbus' win over Miami High secured the District 14-6A championship for the Cavaliers and sent them to the playoffs for the first time in three years. The CGHS football team is coached by Joe Montoya. Congratulations to the entire football team and coaching staff. Go Cavs!

Can You Help Call Classmates?

Coral Gables High 40-year Reunion
January 12-14, 2007

We still need more help calling our classmates and getting them to come to our 40-year reunion. We are determined to make this the biggest and best reunion yet. That's a tall task when our class is spread across the country (and sometimes even outside of it).

Between now and the reunion we would like every person whom we have contact information for to receive at least one personal call urging them to come to the reunion.

Can you help?

Please contact Art Berkowitz (949) 362-9940 or artbcpa@aol.com

Three More Reasons to Come to the Coral Gables High 40-year Reunion

Golf

Charlie Johnson has reserved 16 tee times (4 foursomes) for the Biltmore Golf Course starting at 10:00 A.M. on Saturday.

Beaux Art Festival

It is the simply the best art festival in Miami--high, high quality, juried, and a great outing for Sat or Sunday.

Chihuly at Fairchild Tropical Gardens

Chihuly has never done an exhibit in the same place, but was such a success last year, at Fairchild that he is coming back. His blown glass is incredible and interspersed throughout the Gardens, it is just something to behold.

But of course nothing beats the best reason for attending the reunion:

Friends

This is an excerpt from a note sent by a classmate to a friend who was considering not coming to the reunion. (We removed the names to protect their identities.)

Hi ___________,
I heard thru the grapevine that you were thinking of not coming to the reunion....you must be kidding!!! I had so much fun seeing you when you came to ________, it was like it was yesterday and it had been about 30+ years. Can you imagine seeing all our old friends again, after 40 years! I'm sure many have changed, but you have not, you looked great and the same to me. Remember the lady at Tommy Bahamas thought we looked like sisters?! It will be a blast. If we can come from _______ you and your hubby should be able to come from _______. Wouldn't your mom be happy to see you too?! It sounds like the committee has gone to a lot of work and are planning some fun stuff and we need to get as many people to attend as possible. I hope you will give this some serious thought as the chances of connecting with this many old friends again at one time might not happen. You know we are not getting any younger...hah.....and at this point in our lives we are young and still able to "boogie" and have a kicking good time!!! I'm counting on seeing you again and I know many others want to see you too!
Love,
